A Bassist and Music Producer who has worked with some great artists like: Sonny Rollins, Chaka Khan, Brenda Russell, and Hugh Masakela. We feature his track: Quiet Strength

Per Boysen and Costas Androu with ‘Fish Of Fortune’ - From their new album
This is an interesting track from an excellent album called Nanetora. Nanetora is the first-fruit of a long distance collaboration between Per Boysen (Sweden) and Costas Andreou (Greece).

Steve Oliver
Hilde, one of our listeners from Norway first introduced the Doc to Steve Oliver. The Doc immediately purchased his last CD entitled Radiant. One of his favourites from the last CD is Tradewinds. Guitarist/vocalist Steve Oliver has one of the most recognizable sounds in Smooth Jazz, and to watch him live is a joy to the senses. He’s one of the most positive, energetic, and captivating artists touring today. The concert captured here happened at the State Theatre in Modesto, California, and this DVD/CD 2 disk set captures The evening The CD is called One Night Live.

Nate Harasim
Piano/ keyboard phenom Nate Harasim has an incredible sound. Check out his new CD Love’s Taken Over

This week’s Friends section includes:

ElleJohnson-Rain

Also known as ‘Elle’, (Pronounced “L”) she is a smooth, sensual, sultry, yet powerful soul singer/song writer/poetess . ‘Elle’ (L) has been singing and supporting many underground groups for the last 10 years. Now it is Elle’s turn to shine. She has an album out entitled, ‘This is Me…..Honestly’ ..and the ace track we featured is entitled, ‘Rain’

Claudio Scolari - Caos Of The Town
Here is a really nice track from a CD entitled, ”Dreams and emotions of city” by an artist from Italy who has collaborated with artists such as Pavarotti, Grace Jones, James Brown, Lionel Richie, George Michael and Queen.

Jo Sallins - It is What it is. Mr Cool
This versatile multi-instrumentalist, composer and choreographer, whose influences include James Brown, Micheal Jackson, Bruce Lee, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr and Mahatma Gandhi has produced this wonderful sound.

This week’s Moments and Wotnots is from : Archie Bell and The Drells
The choice came out of a discussion with some very old friends of the Professor’s that included memories of some great dance tunes of the 70s. The discussion collectively reminded the Professor of some really awesome gems that should never be forgotten.

Our Bring in Back Section this week included:

Joyce Cooling from her 2001 CD entitled, ‘Third Wish’.

A surprise choice from the Doc - The Eagles! Yes, the Doc thinks they sound smooth enough for the show but let us see what you think. The track is from their CD, ‘Hell freezes over’.

Special EFX
This band is led by contemporary jazz guitarist and composer Chieli Minucci, He and his grammy-nominated group. NB Special EFX, have recorded a combined 23 CDs, 6 of those being solo releases. This track is from the 1992 CD entitled, ‘Global Village.’

Steve Cole from the 2006 CD entitled True

We end the show with Basia a great instrumental called Freeze Thaw.
